Stables Cottage, DunsStables Cottage sleeps up to 4 (2 twin / double bedrooms and 2 bath / shower rooms) and is available to let for 1-2 week holidays and short breaks. Central heating, electricity, linen and towels, and a basket of logs for the woodburning stove are included in the rental and the cottage is equipped with a dishwasher and clothes washer / dryer, radio, TV and DVD player, barbeque and garden furniture. A travel cot and high chair are available on request. The cottage has a bedroom and level access shower at ground level. One well-behaved dog is welcome. It is approached via an archway and gated private wynd from Newtown Street, in the small town of Duns. Close to shops, yet a short walk from open countryside, Stables Cottage has its own private garden and is ideal for a relaxing self catering holiday in the beautiful Scottish Borders and Northumberland. Built in 1779 by Quartermaster George Grant of the 4th Regiment of Horse, who lived in the adjacent Georgian town house, the stables were still in use in the 1970s and are Grade B listed. They have recently been sympathetically converted by the current architect owners. Catherine Kent
